Bath-Springs is a small community located along the Tennessee River in Decatur County, about 33 miles from Pickwick Lake. The lake offers 496 miles of shoreline, with 85 miles of island shoreline. Activities include swimming, boating, water skiing, jet skiing and fishing. There is also a self-service campground located at Pickwick Lake, with 95 campsites, 66 with water and electric hookups. There's a boat ramp located below the dam; restrooms with heated showers, and picnic tables with grills and tailwater bank fishing. Just eight miles from town is City Park, which sits on the banks of the Tennessee River and offers picnicking with grills, pavilions and playground equipment. There are a lot of Civil War historical sites in the area, such as Shiloh State Park, which is about 34 miles from Bath Springs. Also in the rolling countryside along the banks of the Tennessee River, near the town of Clifton, is a beautifully designed golf course, which is the fifth in a series of Jack Nicklaus designed courses located in the state of Tennessee. The course offers a variety of wooded and meadow golf holes, as well as marshes and ponds that have been created to benefit the environment and provide strategy on some of the golf holes. During the construction of the course, special efforts were made to preserve natural environment, while new grades were carefully tied into these existing features so that it appears that the course has always been here.

Bath Springs Weather & Climate

Southwestern Tennessee has a mild climate with four distinct seasons. Summers are usually warm and humid, with cooler temperatures in the mountains. Winters tend to be mild and wet. Spring and autumn can be varied and unpredictable with severe weather, like thunderstorms and strong winds. Summers temperatures are not extreme, but the high level of humidity makes it feel hotter than it actually is. Of course, these general patterns are affected by topography: the higher mountain areas tend to have milder summers as well as colder, more blustery winters. Southern Tennessee averages about 5 inches of snow per year. Severe storms are infrequent in the state, being east of the center of tornado activity, south of most blizzard conditions, and too far inland to be affected by hurricanes.
